August 23rd was a great day a Gracie Daytona; in addition to an incredible seminar by Master Relson Gracie there were promotions! Gracie Daytona’s first blue belts were awarded as well as myself, John-Michael Hawk, being promoted to brown belt by Relson Gracie. I would like to further acknowledge my students and state again how incredibly proud I am of every one of them. Congrats to Jay Brennan, Tim Hagstrom, Edwin
Wanderberg, Jim Allison, and Jimmy Esguerra on your promotion to blue belt. This is a great accomplishment in Brazilian jiu jitsu and one met with even higher standards in Gracie jiu jitsu. These are my first students that I have had the honor to be their sole instructor and make the blue belt so it makes me very proud to see their success. I’m also very excited to have been awarded my brown belt in Gracie jiu jitsu by Relson Gracie. I’m very lucky to have had him as my direct and only instructor for all these years.

More great news for Aug at Gracie Daytona! WEC fighter and Relson Gracie Black Belt Phil Cardella will be at Gracie Daytona on Saturday Aug 29 for a two hour seminar!! Regarded as Relson’s warrior, Phil is an incredible MMA fighter, and awesome instructor so you’ll get lot’s of great stuff from the seminar! I’m bringing the best to Daytona, so please support the seminars by attending so they may continue to come!!!

Great news; once again Master Relson Gracie will be at Gracie Daytona on Sunday August 23 at 5:00 pm for promotions and a two hour seminar! Cost is only $55 for team members!

Make sure you congratulate Dorian on his performance at this past weeks NAGA / US Open tournament at Disney, Dorian won first place and the Samurai sword in his gi division, as well as bronze in his no-gi division.

Diego’s seminar for this coming Saturday will be cancelled due to the very unexpected passing of his and Daniel’s mother. It is a very hard time for both Daniel and Deigo so please keep them and their families in your prayers. Descanse em paz Olga.
